i remember when i used to write poetry nonsensical, lyrical thoughts and now, i’m only a branch in the tree without significance and simple to snap carrying the weight of leaves, that leave me in the fall afraid to break a part of the trunk for a life independent is a life alone and a life alone is mostly madness i hold onto the trunk hoping that my leaves stay clinging to me
